Türkiye-Gana Business Forum Was Held in Antalya


In an organization of International Relations and Trade Commission in Antalya, "Turkey-Ghana Business Forum and Networking Event" was held where the business people of the two countries met.

The meeting was held at Anfaş Exhibition Center and was attended by Ghana Labor and Housing Deputy Minister Freda Prempeh, MUSIAD International Relations and Foreign Trade Commission Chairman Zeki Güvercin, Turkey-Ghana Business Council President Turan Koçyiğit, Ghana Ankara Commercial Counselor John Hawkins Asiedu and Turkish and Ghanaian business people.

Güvercin stated at the opening of the program, that they have declared 2018 as the "African year" as MUSIAD, and that they are in intense pace of work to increase the commercial relations in Africa.

Güvercin, said that he believes the "Turkey-Ghana Business Forum and Networking Event" which they organized, will make an important contribution to the trading volume of the two countries. Güvercin said that they aimed to realize business forum programs until the end of the year with African countries.

Later, the participants of the two countries held one-to-one business meetings.

In the forum it was stated that, between Ghana and Turkey, 194.4 million dollars worth of imports have been made in 2010, compared to exports which amounted to 96.5 million dollars. It was pointed out that in 2016, exports increased to 298 million dollars and imports to 180 million dollars. In 2017, exports decreased to 225 million dollars and imports to 128 million dollars.

In the forum, it was emphasized that the commercial potential between the two countries is very important for the future.
