Sharipov, after giving detailed information about Uzbekistan to investors, said:

We Are Ready For Any and All Kinds of Support

“All industrial activities in Uzbekistan are carried out under the supervision of our ministry. Namangan Region is an important center for silk production. I personally worked in the silk industry for 10 years.  In the past, we built very successful business relationships with Turkish businesspeople. I would like to talk about some of the opportunities we offer to the investors.  We have had some important developments in the silk industry under the leadership of our esteemed president in a period of nearly two years. Uzbekistan is currently at the third place after India and China in raw material production. We stipulate that Uzbekistan will be able to produce 23 thousand tons of raw material in 2018. The cocoon number in Uzbekistan has been increased to 60 in the last 25 years. We export unprocessed silk to countries such as China and Turkey.  To be honest, we are not at our desired level in terms of silk production.
This year we will produce 2 thousand tons of silk and process only 14% of it.  Therefore, our esteemed president requested me to work particularly on this topic. For this reason, I went to Italy before coming to Turkey and carried out some studies about this topic. We know that Turkey is an important country in silk industry. Especially in silk carpets and fabrics. The primary goal of our visit here is carrying out studies in production of silk fabrics and carpets. I, as a minister, promise that I am ready to help to all who want to do business in Uzbekistan within this direction. We, as the silk industry delegation of Uzbekistan, would like to visit Turkey again. If you want to do business in the field of industry, you can call the Ankara Embassy of Uzbekistan. Hopefully we can see each other in the next visits we will make in the future as well.
The meeting continued with job interviews after an exchange of plaques, and ended with a photoshoot.
